Changes as of the November 2000 Elections
Governor: After George W. Bush's election as president, Lt. Gov. Rick Perry (R) was sworn in as governor on Dec. 21, 2000.  He will serve the rest of Bush's four-year term.
State Legislature: All 150 House seats and 15 of 31 Senate seats were up.  No changes in partisan balance.
U.S. House: No change in partisan balance.  The seat opened by B. Archer's retirement went to  7. J.Culberson (R).
U.S. Senate: Kay Bailey Hutchison (R) re-elected.
